Overview of the Audition Process

Each year, nomination letters and forms are sent to nearly 300 Central Ohio middle and high school band directors by email and conventional mail.

Nominations must be received by physical mail delivery or by Webform* completion (preferred) on or before our published deadline (October 26, 2017).

All candidates with on-time nominations will audition on:

  • Sunday, November 5th 2016 from 1:00 – 6:00 pm – we will call you with audition time
  • Conflict date Monday, November 6th, arrange directly with our Business Manager, Julie Raccio (614) 562-8633.

Every Prospective All-Star Must Be Nominated

Veteran All-Star members may nominate themselves as well as others* who they feel meet the rigorous challenges of The All-Star Brass Bands.  All veteran All-Stars must audition each year with no seating guarantees.

Those new to The All-Stars must be nominated by their band director, private music teacher, or a veteran All-Star (alumnus or current member).

Seating Assignments?

Following auditions, we notify successful nominees by phone with the name of the band to which they are assigned along with the rehearsal report time, and musicians learn their instrument and seat upon arrival.
